Review: McDonald's - Triple Cheeseburger

McDonald's Triple Cheeseburger consists of three beef patties, two slices of American cheese, ketchup, mustard, dehydrated diced onions, and pickles on a plain toasted bun. It's only available at select locations.

I bought one for $2.49.

The Triple Cheeseburger tastes both meatier and heartier than a McDouble or Double Cheeseburger. On this occasion, the beef patties were actually juicy (I'm guessing they were fresh from the grill), but someone must have gone a little crazy with the salt and pepper while cooking them because there was a sharp salty bite throughout (it's a shame given the rare juiciness).

The two cheese slices are plenty here, and with the beef provide the stronger flavors for the burger. The pickles also make a strong showing with a sour punch to them.

Unfortunately, the onions, ketchup, and mustard get lost in the shuffle with the enhanced meat and cheese proportions. I missed them for the most part, especially the onions, which are fairly light to begin with.

Overall, McDonald's Triple Cheeseburger might be for you if you're looking for a meatier Double Cheeseburger, but it didn't quite hit the right notes for me. The McDouble, which currently go for $1.49 in my area, provides the best balance of the same classic ingredients.
