Around the World: Taco Bell Korea Offers Bulgogi Tacos

Taco Bell first entered the South Korea market back in 2010 and, for the most part, it offers the same taste and menu as you'd find here in the U.S. But recently, they added something with a little more local Korea flavor: new Fiesta Bulgogi Tacos and Grilled Bulgogi Burritos.

For those of you not familiar with the popular Korean barbecue dish, bulgogi literally means "fire meat" in Korean and is typically sliced beef that has been marinated in a sweet and tangy soy sauce before grilled over a fire. The Taco Bell version looks more like it's been braised and is offered in lieu of the signature Taco Bell seasoned ground beef.

The tacos come with fiesta salsa and lettuce, while the burritos look like they come with fiesta salsa, shredded cheese, and seasoned rice. The tacos are offered at 2,700 won (~$2.56 US) each and the burritos are going for 3,500 won (~$3.31 US).

is Caring

  1. Gawsh i was in korea to try these!!! I love foreign fast food offering more, seems more eclectic than the offerings here in the states.

  2. im sure its easier to roll things like this out when a country has one predominant culture. theres too many different cultures mashed together in the us.

  3. Korean-Mex fusion food is pretty popular in Southern California at least. Dunno how Taco Bell's version would hold up here (if it were ever to appear) haha.

  4. Tried it.

  5. That's an idea!

  6. I didnt know they had taco bells in Korea. And if they'd bring something like this here to US im pretty sure it would be a hit like the dorito taco was. Not just a bunch of their same ol ingredients mixed together like most fast food places do.

  7. Taco Bell has been a big hit in Korea for the past two years, since it started in Seoul, Itaewon. The prices at Taco Bell are much lower than those charged at the local ripoff joints. The Koreans who visit Taco Bell are mostly college students.
