Frozen Friday: Ben & Jerry's - Peanut Buttah Cookie Core Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry's Peanut Buttah Cookie Core ice cream features peanut butter ice cream with crunchy peanut butter sugar bits, peanut butter cookies, and a peanut butter cookie core.

I bought a pint for $3.49 on sale.

The peanut butter ice cream here seems different than the stuff you find in their other flavors. It's more mellow and creamier, with more of an emphasis on the ice cream than the peanut butter. They probably switched it up to better highlight the flavor of the other peanut buttery components.

The sugar bits were pebble-sized and packed the most crunch, while the peanut butter cookie pieces offered a crumbly texture and a light, sweet peanut butter flavor. The peanut butter cookie core is where the "Buttah" comes in, as it offers the strongest peanut butter punch with a rich and smooth creaminess; it reminded me somewhat of the creme in a Nutter Butter cookie but better. The smoothness was very occasionally broken by the odd bit of peanut butter cookie.

Overall, I really enjoyed Ben & Jerry's Peanut Buttah Cookie Core ice cream for a measured and varied approach to what is essentially an all-peanut-butter ice cream. It could have easily been too peanut buttery but it wasn't.
