Review: Choco Chunky Chips Ahoy! Cookies

Choco Chunky Chips Ahoy! cookies feature chocolaty (cocoa) cookies with both semisweet chocolate and milk chocolate chunks.

I picked up a 10.25-oz package for $2.99.

These feature a lighter, crispier cookie compared to regular Chips Ahoy!. It delivered a light chocolaty quality but is otherwise pretty plain compared to the caramelly sweetness of a typical chocolate chip cookie. I was expecting a more prominent chocolate flavor.

The taste and texture are broken up by the smooth, sweet chocolate chunks. I wouldn't call them rich, but they have a nice flavor. Since the chunks are bigger, they're not as numerous as a standard Chips Ahoy cookie but I still got a chunk or two in most bites. I didn't really notice a difference between the semisweet chocolate and milk chocolate chunks.

Overall, Choco Chunky Chips Ahoy! cookies were pretty good, but in the way that chocolate chips cookies are generally pretty good. I'm not sure I'd prefer them over regular Chunky Chips Ahoy! cookies as they don't bring enough to the table.
