Review: Starbucks - S'mores Tart

Starbucks' S'mores Tart features a graham cracker tart crust filled with milk chocolate ganache topped with a toasted marshmallow.

I paid $2.95 for one.

The crust had the requisite honeyed graham cracker flavor but with an airier, crumbly texture and the addition of a buttery note. It lent a fancy feel that seems out of place for s'mores.

I initially thought the marshmallow might have been too small but it expanded a good amount when toasted and provided plenty of warm, gooey sweetness and just a bit of a crust.

The milk chocolate ganache was overly sweet/syrupy and didn't quite hit the right milk chocolate flavor for me. It was cold but still liquid; I was expecting something thicker and closer to actual chocolate.

Overall, Starbucks' S'mores Tart was pretty good for the crust and marshmallow but fell apart with the milk chocolate portion of the dessert. It might be worth trying if you want a fancy rendition of what is normally a no-frills campfire dessert.
