Review: Burger King - Red Velvet Oreo Shake

Burger King's Red Velvet Oreo Shake features a red-colored, cream cheese and chocolate-flavored shake blended with Oreo cookie crumbles.

I picked one up for $2.59.

The color was a deep, somewhat rose, shade of pink and made me wonder how much food coloring I was drinking. No more than a slice of red velvet cake I suppose.

The shake I got was surprisingly thick and took a little effort to get up the straw; usually it's been hit or miss in this department for the last few times I've gotten a shake from BK.

Beyond the thick texture, there's enough bits of Oreos that you get a few granules with every sip but not so much that it feels grainy.

Taste-wise, it's mostly like an Oreo or cookies and cream shake but with a noticeable cream cheese flavor but no chocolate flavor beyond the Oreos. The cream cheese flavor complemented the cookies and cream very well.

Overall, I really liked Burger King's Red Velvet Oreo Shake for the combination of cream cheese and cookies and cream, as well as the thick texture. I could do without all the food coloring but I suppose a "Cream Cheese Oreo Shake" just doesn't market as well.
