Haagen-Dazs' Tiramisu Gelato features tiramisu-flavored gelato with cocoa ladyfingers.
I bought a 14-oz carton for
$2.50 on sale.
The gelato was smooth and creamy with a really nice mascarpone flavor and tinged with a bit of cocoa and a reasonable coffee note. It's softer than their regular ice cream with a silkier mouthfeel.
The cocoa ladyfingers offered mostly a chocolaty flavor with a crumbly texture straight out of the freezer. You might have to let it thaw a bit to get a more moist, soft feel but then you run the risk of the gelato melting.
Overall, I enjoyed Haagen-Dazs' Tiramisu Gelato quite a bit. The ladyfingers don't really replicate their feel in the namesake dessert, but perhaps they're not meant to? If you're a fan of tiramisu or coffee ice cream, you're likely to enjoy this one.
