Review: Dunkin' Donuts - Mint Hot Chocolate

Dunkin' Donuts Mint Hot Chocolate offers the warm taste of hot chocolate flavored with mint.

I bought this drink in an airport as part of the combo. The menu was a bit kooky and prices are a bit inflated at U.S. airports but I paid $6.58 for a drink/sandwich combo. If you were to buy it in a normal Dunkin' it would probably cost you about $1.99 for a 14-ounce medium like the one I got.

Dunkin's Mint Hot Chocolate is actually made from a powdered mix blended with hot water (the alternatives being either a syrup or melting chocolate into milk). I wish I could buy me some of that mix cause this is the Mint Hot Chocolate I've been looking for and I live nowhere near a Dunkin's (none in all of California, actually they're building one in Camp Pendleton but that's only for military personnel).

Looking at the ingredients, I don't know how they did it but the drink had a rich note of chocolate followed by a soothing cool mint that was pitch perfect. It's actually hot cocoa but it was really good! I did notice some saltiness in the sediment at the bottom of the cup, so many that's the secret to the rich flavor. This was much better than McDonald's version I tried last November which coincidentally has about half as much sodium so maybe it is the salt... The fact that this was hot and McDonald's was lukewarm probably also has something to do with.
