Review: Wheat Thins Wisconsin Colby Artisan Cheese Crackers

I think Wheat Thins Wisconsin Colby Artisan Cheese Crackers are supposed to be a fancier version of the original and are made with real Colby cheese.

A 8-ounce box cost me 1.99 on sale (a retail of $3.59).

Colby's a fairly mild cheese and these are supposed to have bold cheese taste. I can't say I'm a fan; it has that Wheat Thins crunch but not that Wheat Thins slightly grainy, Wheat thin texture. It definitely has the smell of cheese though.

I think the selling point here is natural flavors and 5g of whole grains.
The flavor has that familiar top note of Wheat Thin sweetness but the tail end is only somewhat cheesy but isn't strong enough to make me think, "A-ha! It's cheese!" I don't know, maybe Wheat Thins doesn't lend itself well to cheese flavor. As far as the original flavor goes, it's not something I'd normally pair with cheese. I've tried it with cheese spread before and didn't care for it.

I think I'll stick to Cheez-Its or Nips for my cheese cracker snacking.
