Review: Starbucks - Apple Fritter

Starbucks' Apple Fritter features a glazed fritter donut with Rome apples and cinnamon.

I picked one up for $2.25.

This isn't too different than an apple fritter that you might get from your local donut shop, although the Starbucks version definitely comes with a price premium. My particular one didn't look so great but it tasted fine.

There's a nice, soft, airy texture to the crumb paired with a light touch of cinnamon throughout. The small diced bits of apples aren't mushy and retained a watery crispiness that went well with the cinnamon.

The Apple Fritter can be warmed, which gives it a delicate sugary crust.

Overall, Starbucks Apple Fritter was pretty good. It basically feels like a fried cinnamon bun with apples. The glaze held up to being warmed very well, which isn't always true of donuts (sometimes you just get a liquid mess).
