Around the World: KFC Japan - New Fried Chicken Features Rice in the Breading

The latest thing out of KFC Japan is a fairly unique take on the Colonel's chicken with the flavor of garlic, sprinkled with fried glutinous (or sticky) rice, ground sesame, and black pepper. As far as the translation goes, the promotion is being called "chicken flavor."

Another new item on the Colonel's menu in the Land of the Rising Sun is grilled onigiri (rice ball). The surface is brushed with a special soy sauce. Onigiri are quite popular in Japan. You can find them in convenience stores and supermarkets everywhere, so it's not much of a surprise to find them on the KFC menu.
