Review: Del Taco - Bacon & Egg Quesadilla

Del Taco's Bacon & Egg Quesadilla is a flour tortilla folded over scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon, and just a bit of green sauce, and then grilled flat.

I bought one for $2.19 at 1:32 in the morning because that's when you go to Del Taco (plus they start serving breakfast at 11 pm; some locations serve breakfast all day).

I wasn't expecting any surprises with this one, and Del Taco didn't offer any. It's the same size as their regular quesadilla (they also offer a mini-quesadilla, which uses a soft taco tortilla).

The standard combo of scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon was well made: the eggs were fluffy; the cheese was melted and preferable over American cheese; and the bacon was crispy and smoky.

The green sauce adds tangy bite of heat when you come across it; I like it but it might be better off offered on the side.

The tortilla was grilled especially well with a satisfyingly crispy layer without turning the whole tortilla into a cracker.

Overall, Del Taco's Bacon & Egg Quesadilla really hit the spot for me. I love the bacon, egg, and cheddar combo and the green sauce gives it a little something extra. Just be sure to ask for it without the sauce if you don't deal well with spicy foods.
