New Ray Kroc Biopic Explores McDonald's Origins

There's a new movie coming this August that covers how McDonald's became McDonald's, starring Michael Keaton (as Ray Kroc), called The Founder.

While the founder of McDonald's, Ray Kroc is largely credited as the person responsible for building it into the fast food juggernaut it is today.

The blurb for the movie is as follows: "The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire."

You can check out the trailer below:

Obviously, the drama is ratcheted up for the big screen but it looks pretty interesting. Nick Offerman does a nice turn as one of the McDonald's brothers (the brains behind the chain it appears from the trailer). The movie is set to open on August 5, 2016.
