News: Arby's - New Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich

As I mentioned back in July, the new Smokehouse Brisket sandwich is now available at Arby's for a limited time. The key feature of the sandwich is brisket that has been smoked with hickory for "at least 13 hours."

The sandwich comes with slow-smoked beef brisket, smoked Gouda cheese, crispy onions, barbecue sauce and mayo on a toasted, bakery-style bun.

The suggested retail price for the Smokehouse Brisket is $5.29.

The cheese and the mayo are an odd choice as it runs counter to what is typically thought of as traditional barbecue. Well, crispy onions that aren't common either but seems like it would go well with slow-smoked meat.

The Arby's website teases that "The League of Brisket" is coming on September 29 and offers fans a "chance to prove [their] passion for slow smoked brisket. Earn food, huge rewards, and honorary membership in the League of Brisket."
