Review: Frito Lay - Roasted Garlic & Sea Salt Wavy Lay's Potato Chips

Roasted Garlic & Sea Salt Wavy Lay's potato chips are a fairly recent addition to the Wavy Lay's line and is among the more simpler flavors put out by Frito Lay.

I picked up a 9.5-ounce bag on sale for $2.

The aroma of garlic wafted out from the bag the moment I opened it.

These don't stray too far from a typical wavy potato chip. It offers a stronger crunch than regular Lay's as well as a sturdier form with wide ridges that pick up dips and salsas pretty well.

The pronounced roasted garlic flavor works really well with the potato flavor and I found them to be pretty addicting. The sea salt might actually be a little saltier than a regular Lay's chip.

Overall, Roasted Garlic & Sea Salt Wavy Lay's is a welcomed and tasty addition to the Wavy Lay's line up, especially if you dig garlic like I do. If you're not a fan of garlic or you like a more subtle garlic flavor, these might not be for you.

  1. I was excited to try these until I tasted them. The only thing I could taste and smell was sour cream... which I thoroughly despise. I was so displeased, I contacted Lays and they (the company) were great! So be warned, if you don't like sour cream, don't get these! I'm just disappointed, because the sour cream was not a needed addition.

  2. Huh, strange. When I tried them, all I tasted was an overwhelming garlic flavor -- too strong for me. I didn't taste sour cream at all. (I think it would have improved it for me if I had.)

  3. They definitely tasted like Sour Cream and Onion (only with Garlic instead of Onion) to me as well.
