A 7.8-ounce box of six bars was $1.99.
If you've tried a Kellogg's Nutri-Grain bar before, Trader Joe's version is pretty much the same thing but with more of a crust to it.
There's a soft-baked wheat crust (flecked with wheat bran on top) that holds a jam-like pumpkin filling.
The crust kinda tastes like wheat bread but with a much denser texture.
The pumpkin filling is drier and thicker than your typical jam and has a pretty substantial pumpkin flavor with a tanginess from apples and a fair bit of cinnamon to it.
Overall, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Cereal Bars are pretty good for an on-the-go breakfast option. I'm not sure it (or any cereal bar) is going to tide you over until lunch, but the flavor is nice and pumpkin-y, which gets me in the autumn mood (well that and all the commercials and grocery displays full of pumpkin-flavored items).

I personally enjoyed this a lot. I just wish the bread crumbs were crispier and the chicken a bit more abundant.
ReplyDeleteThe Masala Curry Butter Squash is pretty spicy. I thinned it out with water and it tasted just right.
ReplyDeleteThese look good... nothing mind-blowing to be sure, but definitely worth trying.
