This August, Dairy Queen is going with M&M's and brownies for their Blizzard of the Month. The M&M's Brownie Blizzard features Plain M&M's candy pieces, brownie pieces and chocolaty topping blended in vanilla soft serve.

Also this month, Dairy Queen is offering a fast food special that they're calling the "Cheeseburger Lovers" deal where you can get two DQ Cheeseburgers for $3 or two Double DQ Cheeseburgers for $4 at participating locations across the US.

  1. I tried one the other day, and it wasn't that great. Not saying it was bad, but it just needed something more to it. Since they used plain M&Ms it was pretty much just chocolate on chocolate, and while I love chocolate, I would have preferred it if they had used a different flavor (like my personal favorite, peanut butter M&Ms, or something outside the box like the pretzel ones, to give it a bit of a salty kick).

I did like the different textures going on within it, though. You have the smoothness of the ice cream mixed in with the chewiness of the brownie pieces and the crunchiness of the M&Ms (which get pretty hard inside of the cold ice cream). It definitely made for a nice sensation inside the mouth. If only the flavor had done the same thing then this might have been one of my favorite Blizzards of all-time. But as it is now, it's just pretty run of the mill.

  2. Yeah, I think I'd want an extra flavor like nuts or something as well. This is more for the chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate crowd.

  3. And it's especially weird coming off of last month's flavor, which was pretty chocolate-heavy as well (and the month before that being another brownie-based one). I like the idea of getting a new Blizzard flavor every month, but they've been a bit lacking in variety lately.
