Review: Quiznos - Basil Pesto Chicken Grilled Flatbread

Quiznos' Basil Pesto Chicken Grilled Flatbread is a fairly recent addition to the menu and features all-natural Chicken, all-natural Mozzarella, tomatoes, a seasonal lettuce blend, and basil pesto on a toasted, grilled flatbread.

They cost $3.29 each or two for $5.99. I got a small-sized one free courtesy of Quiznos though. It's a little bit bigger than a Taco Bell Chalupa which is a pretty good size.

With mostly the same ingredients, the Basil Pesto Chicken Grilled Flatbread tastes a lot like Quiznos Chicken Milano Sub, which is to say that it was pretty tasty! I haven't tried any other subs with a basil pesto sauce, but have to say, it's a really nice flavor.

While they both contain a seasonal lettuce blend, I found that either by design or by chance, my flatbread contained mostly iceberg lettuce while my Chicken Milano had mostly Romaine lettuce. Taste-wise, it was mostly the same to me, but nutritionally, I would have preferred more Romaine.

As I've mentioned before, the chicken carries a nice flavor and actually feels like real chicken that you'd make at home as opposed to the less textured chicken you might get at Subway or Taco Bell.

The cheese was a bit sparse, but melted, and didn't add too much flavor.

I especially liked the flatbread itself. It achieved a desirable thin crust from toasting and reminded me of an unfried Taco Bell Chalupa shell.

Overall, I enjoyed Quiznos Basil Pesto Chicken Grilled Flatbread very much. The pesto gave it some "ooomph," and the chicken to veggie ratio was well balanced while filling the delightful flatbread shell.
