Review: Starbucks - Ham & Swiss Panini

Starbucks' Ham & Swiss Panini features a simple affair of ham, Swiss cheese, and Dijon mustard on a focaccia roll.

I picked one up for $5.65.

This probably wouldn't qualify in the U.S. as a "panini" since it's neither pressed or grilled (It would qualify in Italy though). It was, however, lightly toasted from being "warmed" when I got it.

The focaccia roll felt more like a ciabatta. There was a slightly crisp crust to it as well as an airy soft, chewy texture.

There was a good amount of ham and it had a nice flavor.

The Swiss was a bit too mild for my liking though. It was melted but I didn't detect much flavor from it.

There was plenty of tangy mustard. I liked it fine but it might be too much for some.

Overall, Starbucks Ham & Swiss Panini was decent enough, but could use another slice of cheese or two. If I'm getting a sandwich from Starbucks, I'd probably get one of the bacon or sausage breakfast sandwiches over it for a couple bucks less.
