Review: Burger King - Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet Potato Fries at Burger King are here for a limited-time as part of their summer BBQ menu.

I picked up a large order for $2.39 since a small was $1.89 I figured why not. More to share right?

Sweet potato fries are a novelty for me offering a little sweet with the typical savory. They'll never replace regular fries in my heart, but sometimes I want something different.

When I ordered these, the lady at the counter asked if I wanted them salted. After a brief deliberation, I asked that they be lightly salted and they were. Unfortunately, somehow my order was taking a while and although the fries were quickly prepared, they were left on under the heat lamp for some time as I stood and looked on sadly. As a result, my BK Sweet Potato Fries were tender, but not very crisp. At least, there were some slightly crisp edges and ends though.

The cut of the fries are a little bit different; they're cut in thin rectangles probably to ensure they cook through quickly or something.

The taste was good. Just a little bit sweet and a little salty. The textures a bit different from regular fries; a little bit more solid but soft.

I don't often have a craving for Sweet Potato Fries, but Burger King makes a decent batch for those few times I want to stray from the standard fries. If only they were crisper though...
