News: McDonald's - New BLT Quarter Pounder

For a limited-time, McDonald's is offering the new BLT Quarter Pounder. If it looks more than a little familar to you, it's more or less a Deluxe Quarter Pounder with bacon added to it, which means it comes with a quarter pound beef patty, thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, tomato, leaf lettuce, red onion, crinkle-cut pickles, mayo, mustard, and a toasted bakery-style bun.

You can expect the price to be around $4 to $5 (varying with location).

On the plus side, if you end up liking it, you can still order if when its run is over by getting a Deluxe Quarter Pounder with bacon.

Personally, I would have preferred if they went with the less-is-more approach and just offered it standard with just bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the beef patty. While I'm aware that you can ask them to customize it as such, previous experiences with custom ordering at McDonald's have left me a bit leery.

  1. Anybody else missing the Angus 1/3 Pounders? Every one of the new 1/4 Pounders I've tried has been disappointing, including this one. The flavor of the 1/4 pounder beef patty just can't handle the toppings, and the burgers really just doesn't taste all that good. And, they are just as expensive.
