Cracker Barrel Launches New Southern Fried Chicken

Cracker Barrel adds bone-in fried chicken to the menu with the launch of new Southern Fried Chicken.

The Southern dish features chicken that is double-breaded with a blend of three types of black peppers as well as several seasonings and spices before going into the fryer.

For $10.79 (may vary), you get half a fried chicken (breast, thigh, leg, and wing), two sides, and a choice of either buttermilk biscuits or corn muffins. They'll also bring a bear-shaped bottle of honey to your table in case you want to drizzle some on your chicken.

According to Cracker Barrel, they "spent years developing the recipe, perfecting the breading's spice and flour blends, ensuring a cooking method that allowed for a hearty, crispy outside and perfectly juicy inside."

Additionally, starting May 20, 2019, they'll be offering a Southern Fried Chicken Picnic Box as a to-go family meal. The Picnic Box will include 12 pieces of Southern Fried Chicken, two sides, and buttermilk biscuits for $33.99 (may vary). You will be able to add on a half gallon of sweet tea, unsweetened tea, lemonade, or strawberry lemonade as well as banana pudding and/or cookies for an extra charge.
