Wendy's Quietly Discontinues Chicken Tenders

Wendy's has quietly discontinued their chicken tenders nationwide a company rep confirmed to me.

While no official reason was given, anecdotally, workers on the ground have cited a lack of sales and a long prep time (six and a half minutes) for something that was made to order at some locations.

The chicken tenders were first introduced back in late 2017 along with Side of S'Awesome Sauce, which manages to stick around.

The move leaves chicken nuggets as Wendy's only dippable chicken option for now. It's notable as major burger chain competitors, including Burger King, McDonald's, Carl's Jr. (and Hardee's), and Jack in the Box, all offer chicken strips/tenders (as do Arby's and Chick-fil-A). Then again, with such a crowded field, maybe Wendy's is looking to focus on other areas (like chicken sandwiches).
