Review: Brownie-Filled Chewy Chips Ahoy

Nabisco's Brownie-Filled Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies each feature a disc of fudge brownie baked inside of a chewy chocolate chip cookie.

A 9.5-oz bag was $2.99 on sale.

I can't say there's any real draw for having a brownie baked inside of a chocolate chip cookie other than to say you made a chocolate chip cookie with a brownie baked inside. In that respect, it's mission accomplished for Nabisco.
In terms of texture, the brownie feels a lot like the rest of the chewy Chips Ahoy cookie, which isn't quite the moist dense brownie you typically want. The difference comes in taste where there's a deep cocoa flavor to it. I'd rather go for the gooey Chocofudge ones for a more satisfying chocolate flavor.

Overall, Nabisco Brownie-Filled Chewy Chips Ahoy make for an odd idea that doesn't quite come to fruition. It's a basically a standard Chips Ahoy cookie with an added cocoa flavor. It does, however, make me long for the day when they make a Chewy Chips Ahoy cookie with an Oreo inside.
