Around the World: Subway Japan Offers Hot Dog and BBQ Sub

If you've ever wondered what a hot dog from Subway might look like, you'll be happy to know that Subway Japan is celebrating the summer barbecue season by offering a sausage and barbecue sub.

The sub is being offered through the end of August as part of a special where a 6-inch version of the sub and a drink can be had for 490 yen (~$5.02 US).

The sausage looks suspiciously like a hot dog but is described as a "coarsely ground juicy sausage" (in case you're wondering, all hot dogs are sausages, but not all sausages are hot dogs). Accompanying the sausage is barbecue sauce plus a choice of cheese, veggies, and bread. This basically means you can get what looks like a vegetable-laden hot dog sub from Subway in Japan, if you're so inclined.

  1. I honestly thought the dog was the bottom part of a hot dog bun and couldn't find the meat.
