Around the World: Krispy Kreme Japan's New Donut Looks Like a Cute Chick

Krispy Kreme Japan's new seasonal donuts exhibit an Easter egg theme and include a caramel-filled donut that looks like a cute baby chick hatching from an egg.

Toasted sliced almonds and a jagged line of white icing serve to represent the shell, while the donut is dipped in yellow icing and decorated with a beak and two eyes.

The name is rather plain though: it's just the "Caramel Easter." The other two donuts for the Easter line are the Marshmallow Vanilla Egg and the Strawberry Milky. Each carries a price tag of 230 yen each (~$2.24 US).

The Easter-themed donuts are available April 1 through May 20, 2014 (so you have plenty of time to go to Japan and get one!).

Krispy Kreme has previously offered Easter-themed donuts here in the US, but nary a chick in sight.
