Review: Starbucks - Egg & Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich

Starbucks' Egg & Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich features a fried egg and slice of cheddar cheese on multigrain toast.

I picked one up for $2.95.

I have to say I shouldn't be surprised because of the description but I was expecting more flavor out of this one.

The lone slice of cheddar wasn't strong enough to provide the necessary savory punch that the sandwich needed, dooming it to a general blah-ness. In fact, the cheddar melted into a paper-thin smear across the bread that, for the most part, offered neither texture nor flavor. The exception were the crispy burnt edges. An extra slice or two would have been nice.

I can see the bread through my cheese!
The multigrain bread provides a bulk of the flavor with a chewy, bready nuttiness that mostly felt like I was eating two pieces of bread and not a sandwich. Even the toasted surface was kinda chewy.

The egg was dry and uneventful.

Overall, Starbucks' Egg & Cheddar Breakfast Sandwich is unequivocally the worst breakfast sandwich I've tried (fast food or otherwise).

If any of you have had a different experience with this sandwich, I would really like to hear them as mine was really that sad.
