Frozen Friday: Totino's Buffalo Chicken Rolls

Totino's Buffalo Chicken Rolls feature the same mini-crust pockets as their signature Pizza Rolls but stuffed with cubes of white chicken meat, cheese substitute, and Buffalo-style sauce.

A 17.4-oz bag was $2.99 on sale.

I cooked these in the toaster oven and the crust developed a little bit of crustiness to go with their typical chew. It's nice and familiar for someone who grew up eating these.

The bulk of the flavor comes from the Buffalo sauce, which is made with Frank's Red Hot sauce. It's fairly light on tang compared to most Buffalo sauces, but that might be due in part to the imitation cheese blunting it a little. With Frank's Red Hot, it's pretty spicy.

The chicken comes in tiny cubes and serves more as texture with little in the way of flavor. The texture's not so great either as it's overly smooth.

Overall, Totino's Buffalo Chicken Rolls were nice enough and better than the other "Bold" flavor they put out (Jalapeno Popper). If you're looking for Totino's rolls with a kick, these are your best bet. I wouldn't choose them over the original pepperoni pizza flavor though.
