Review: Nabisco - Root Beer Float Chewy Chips Ahoy Cookies

Root Beer Float Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies are part of new line of "Ice Cream Creations" recently introduced by the brand. The flavor adds vanilla and root beer-flavored chips (in lieu of chocolate chips) to your standard Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies.

I bought a 9.5-oz package for $2.50.

I thought these would just taste weird, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Opening the package, there was the distinct smell of root beer.

The vanilla-flavored chips are white and slightly larger than the root beer-flavored chips in the cookie. The root beer is mild but definite and fleshed out by an undertone of creamy vanilla, which is very much like a root beer float.

The rest of the cookie is that standard melt-in-your-mouth, brown sugary, soft-baked fare.

Overall, Root Beer Float Chewy Chips Ahoy cookies strike just the right notes to deliver a root beer float in a cookie without going too heavy handed on any one flavor. Even if you're not a fan of root beer or root bear floats, these still taste pretty good.
